With the development of Spyjinx and other projects, it has become increasingly difficult for our team to support the Infinity Blade series at a level that meets our standards. Here's the official statement from their blog post:Īt Epic we strive to put players first and to provide a supported, full-fledged experience in every game we publish. The biggest draw was the level of graphics and fluidity of game play, but it appears the amount of work needed to upkeep the game has become to much for the Epic team to handle. The second release introduced Clash Mobs, where you could join other players to work for larger rewards, and the latest release allowed you to play as another character - the female warrior Isa - thus keeping things fresh. Three versions of Infinity Blade (Infinity Blade, Infinity Blade II and Infinity Blade III) were released in this span of seven years, all working on the concept of letting you run through the same gauntlet of enemies with each round with the option of varying your course (and hence the enemies you face) along the way. This marks the end of a seven year run starting in 2011 with the first Infinity Blade, quite an incredible feat for a mobile game. If you're a fan of the Infinity Blade series, you may be saddened to know that Epic Games has officially taken them off the Apple App store as of yesterday (10th December).
